Justin Bowman takes the Pure Stock win and then the rains came down!

Baton Rouge, Louisiana (July 17, 2004) -  The night started out looking like there wouldn't be a rain problem. Pure Stock heats kicked the night off. First heat of the night Tracy Talbert led every lap and ran a flawless race and took the win. Second pure stock heat Eric McAllister took the win.

Jason Jackson sailed to victory for the street stock heat win.

Jerry Cassano sporting his new color of red on his UMP instead of the familiar yellow we have all gotten to know over the years took the first of two heats wins. Cassano just put more distance in him and the rest of the field with every lap. Darron Carroll led every lap of heat two also with plenty of distance between him and rest of field.

Super stock Jr. Duponts Ford took the heat win.

Randy Blanchard's Mopar led every lap in the first late model heat and took the win.  Jimmy Noland set sail and took heat two in late models.

5 Cruisers cars went at it. When the checkered fell it was Matt Holmes  and friend up front taking the checkered.

Half time the skies started flashing with lightning but the Pure Stocks hit the track with Eric McAllister in the early lead followed by Melvin Buecker and Justin Bowman. Bowman soon took over second then went after McAllister. Something happened and McAllister fell off the pace falling back through an army of cars as Bowman took the lead. On the last lap in the middle of the back straightaway a three wide battle raged between Dallas Grace, Chris Crowe and Cliff Welch. Grace wound up flipping off the back of the track. Bowman took the win followed by Melvin Buecker, Tracy Talbert, Troy Dean and Chris Crowe.

Street Stock lined up and as the green flag waved Jason Jackson took the lead with Jason Wilks in tow and the sky open up with a down pour canceling the rest of the feature for the night..
